Description of Services:
  • Provides social support, safety, security and friendship for home-bound isolated seniors
  • Alleviates loneliness, social isolation and stress on family caregivers

    • Friendly Visiting Program
    • Provides one to one friendly visiting by trained volunteers who visit weekly to provide companionship and friendship

    Telephone Assurance Program
    • Offers an ongoing telephone link for social contact and security reasons between a volunteer and a senior citizen
    • Volunteers call on a regular basis, either daily or weekly Monday to Friday

    Walk A Bit Program
    • Provides a volunteer to accompany a senior for a walk on a weekly basis to get out of their home or apartment
    Requirements
    Fees: None
    Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Home-bound isolated seniors living in their own home/apartment


    Volunteers

    • Must be 18 years of age and older

    • Must provide a successful criminal records check
    Application:
    • Referrals from professionals, family, self

    • Seniors requesting service will receive an in-home assessment

      • Volunteer applications are available on the website
